The Department Of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics deals with the diagnosis & treatment plan of
decayed teeth. It aims at conservation of the natural tooth & rehabilitation of decayed teeth through
various restorative procedures. Restoration of teeth helps to maintain esthetics & function hence quality
of life of the patients.
The department specializes in aesthetic dentistry including smile designing, bleaching, veneering apart
from restoration of teeth for functional rehabilitation.
Endodontics is the branch that deals with root canal treatment , periapical surgeries in various tooth
infections and traumatic injury cases. Novel tooth conservation methods such as hemi-section,
bicuspidization, root amputations procedures to retain the natural tooth structure are also carried out in
the department.
The introduction of Dental loupes & dental microscope opened new avenues for the staff members &
post-graduates to carry out more technique sensitive treatment procedures and get high quality
treatment outcome.
The department is equipped with advanced pre-clinical laboratory for undergraduate & post graduate
students which ensures that the students are thoroughly trained before they start working on the
patients. Here the students are taught various tooth conservation techniques and restorative procdures
on the simulators.
The department also offers post graduate programme spanning a period of 3 years with an intake
capacity of 5 postgraduates annually. The aim of the post graduate curriculum is to impart in depth
knowledge of the subject through clinical postings , seminars , journal article presentaations. The
interaction of the students with alumini and other post graduates in the fraternity is encouraged
through participation in national conferences & pg conventions. Appreciation & awards during
participation & presentations in conferences/conventions by pg students is a part of academic
achievement by students & staff members.There are multiple ongoing research work by post graduates
and staff members carried out in the Research centre of the college.
